Effective Pipeline Permitting Reforms

Americans are struggling to get the energy because of our country’s broken permitting process.

Projects intended to diversify and drive an energy efficient economy, support small business growth, and move goods more effectively will need to traverse a permitting process that has become increasingly complex and opaque. This process holds projects captive and sometimes ends up terminating them altogether. Everything from natural gas, biogas, renewable energy, critical mineral mining, and forestry are taking four to ten years to receive the necessary permits. Permitting challenges serve only to delay energy infrastructure development and improvement now and in the future.

APGA’s membership is directly impacted by these permitting complications, so the trade association is focused on working with Congress and the Administration to achieve policies that allow for the needed infrastructure to be built with appropriate oversight of environmental impacts.
