Greenwood Commissioners of Public Works is a municipal utility providing electric, gas, and water services in the Upstate of South Carolina. We are located in Greenwood County which has a population of approximately 70,000.
We are looking for an individual to oversee the daily operations of our Gas department. Your primary responsibilities will be providing technical leadership and oversight to employees in the department to serve approximately 18,500 customers. You will also be responsible for ensuring CPW meets all necessary regulatory requirements, interacting with potential customers for new gas loads, overseeing two operational supervisors, managing contracts with outside consultants and contractors, and maintaining excellent working relationships. Strong communication skills along with a solid understanding of natural gas operations will be key to this role.
Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related field supplemented by six to nine years of progressively responsible administrative and technical experience in public utilities, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must become Operator Qualified according to the Department of Transportation and Office of Pipeline Safety Operator Qualification rule within one year of hire.
