JOB TITLE: 10-CONSTRUCTION COORDINATOR CONSTRUCTION DEPARTMENT

GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
Under general supervision schedules and oversees the installation of system mains in accordance with assigned projects. Coordinates, schedules and supervises the work of outside steel contractors. Supports Patriots Energy Group (PEG) operations. Reports to the Sr. Manager of Operations.


SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports the mission, vision and values of the Authority. Collaborates with other work groups to ensure adherence to Authority procedures and a best-in-class customer experience.
  • Project Planning: Collaborate with project coordinators and engineers to develop project plans, timelines, and budgets for welding and steel pipeline construction projects.
  • Resource Management: Coordinate and allocate resources, including materials, equipment, and labor, to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Supervision and Inspection: Monitor construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications. Conduct regular inspections to assess progress and identify potential issues.
  • Welding and Pipeline Expertise: Applies specialized knowledge of welding techniques, codes, and standards to ensure proper welding procedures and quality control. Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of steel pipelines.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Act as a liaison between project stakeholders, including contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration to address project requirements and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of project activities, including progress reports, change orders, and compliance documentation. Prepare comprehensive reports for management and clients.
  • Problem-solving: Identify and troubleshoot construction-related problems, propose solutions, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Safety and Compliance: Promote and enforce safety protocols and regulatory compliance throughout the construction process. Ensure adherence to industry standards, company requirements, and best practices.
  • Cost Control: Monitor project costs, track expenses, and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or safety.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to welding and steel pipelines. Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Oversees daily construction activities in the following areas: steel crews and project management.
  • Exercises oversight to ensure quality, efficiency and safety of departmental operations.
  • Manages construction activities to support operations of Patriots Energy Group (PEG) as assigned.
  • Is familiar with Federal, State and local agency standards, regulations and procedures and monitors compliance in construction activities.
  • Coordinates with the Warehouse to ensure the availability of ample supplies and materials.
  • Ensures that tools, machinery and equipment are available and in proper operational condition.
  • Is responsible for recommending purchases of needed materials for construction activities.
    Ensures that the assigned vehicle is properly maintained.
  • Oversees and reviews work practices, evaluates project efficiency, determines measures for decreasing material waste and provides for efficient use of time.
  • Receives, reviews and/or prepares various records and reports such as daily work orders, daily schedules, weekly work schedules, safety reports, and reports to regulatory agencies, etc.
  • Attends all required meetings.
  • Responds to emergencies and provides assistance to other departments as necessary.
  • Performs other related duties as required.


MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Must have five years’ experience in underground steel utility construction practices and tapping procedures (TD Williamson preferred).
  • CPWI+V Certification for Pipelines preferred. If candidate lacks the certification, it must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Proven experience in project planning and management, strong mechanical skills and ability to work in stressful situations such as pipeline emergencies.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • The possession of a valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required.
    • CDL holders are required to register for the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse for consideration. Candidates who have not registered on the site cannot be considered. https://clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov/).
  • This is a covered function and is subject to random drug testing.

Job Type: Full-time, Hourly (10) Hourly Range: $31.25 - $32.69
