APGA Participates in Construction Leadership Council Event

The Construction Leadership Council (CLC) met on September 10. This week’s event focused on the need for legislative and regulatory policies that would allow natural gas to be used in meeting America’s energy needs, including in the construction industry and especially for projects when their clients want natural gas. APGA staff was invited to co-lead this conversation, along with the honorable Mary Landrieu, who is co-Chairing Natural Allies for a Clean Energy Future, and Mark Valentini, with Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors-National Association.

The three leaders had an engaged discussion with other participants present, such as representatives from the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), the Construction Industry Roundtable (CIRT), and the American Conservation Coalition (ACC). The group recognized that natural gas and the companies in the natural gas value chain are critical for our country, and we need to ensure policymakers recognize the benefits. The hope is all present can continue to collaborate to spread the message, especially of the value of the public gas utilities in delivering energy to their customers.

APGA was grateful for the opportunity to support this event by being a conversation leader. Staff will continue to engage in influential events like this one, ensuring APGA is recognized as an advocacy leader.
