On January 13, at 2:00 PM ET, APGA will host a virtual event for the Public Gas Policy Council (PGPC). The featured speaker will be the Chief of Staff for Senator Jim Inhofe (R-OK). As this new year begins, there is already much happening with Congress. Expectations for 2022 and how what happened last year is influencing it will be shared. As well, this is an election year, so the PGPC will get an insider perspective on what could happen in November.
APGA is still planning to have its Legislative Summit later this month; but given new requirements related to the COVID-19 pandemic in Washington, D.C., it may be harder for PGPC members to participate in-person or meet with individuals on Capitol Hill face-to-face. Given that, APGA staff will discuss ways this important group can still engage with elected officials and their staff.
The PGPC is made up of locally elected and appointed officials from public natural gas communities, and they assist in advancing APGA’s legislative priorities. These individuals are impactful voices with their elected representatives in both the House and Senate, so having an active PGPC carry the public natural gas message to Congress significantly strengthens advocacy efforts.
While this event will be specifically for PGPC members, there is some space for other APGA members to join.
