Works closely with operations, engineering, and construction departments to monitor, analyze, and coordinate with compliance of federal, state, and local rules, and regulations related to natural gas distribution system under DOT (PHMSA). Develops new and improves existing work processes and compliance programs to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. Responsible for the creation and revision of manuals and standard operating procedures. Provides inspections and direct support for field construction and technician activities. Collects and analyzes compliance data and submits regulatory reports. Works on special projects and assignments as required. May support KUB's Gas Operator Qualification (OQ) program and/or obtain and maintain OQ certifications as needed.

Physical Requirements
Works primarily in an office setting, but field visits and field activities may be required. These field visits may include: emergency response activities and support beyond normal business hours. Requires bending, stooping, lifting, and working in awkward positions at times. Occasionally requires above normal mental and visual alertness.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a construction management, engineering discipline, engineering technology, environmental science, safety, or closely related field
- Proficiency with PC skills, including MS Office products (i.e., Word, Excel, Project, Access)
- Strong analytical and project management skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently on projects in a timely manner
- Have and maintain a valid driver's license

Preferred Requirements
- 3+ years experience related to regulatory compliance and/or gas utility
- Strong PC skills including database experience and familiarity with GIS and Maximo or other work management system

- Background in risk management, reliability, and/or safety measurements
- Knowledge of Code of Federal Regulations, Title 49 Parts 192
