The Owatonna Public Utilities is seeking qualified applications for the position of Energy Conservation/Key Account Officer.
Duties include:
- Oversees OPU’s conservation programs, in collaboration with the Triad Marketing Group and serving as a liaison to state energy agencies.
- Represents OPU in energy conservation initiatives and acts as the primary contact for industrial and commercial customers on efficiency, new products, and rebates.
- Manages energy use for OPU and the City of Owatonna, administers the Conservation Investment Plan (CIP/ECO) budget, ensures compliance with state reporting requirements, and develops tailored energy solutions.
- Promotes Demand Side Management (DSM) programs, supports customer service and marketing for energy initiatives, and maintains partnerships with trade allies while engaging in public outreach.
Qualifications and Education requirements are:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field;
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in energy or conservation industries; utility experience preferred.
- Language Skills: Proficient in analyzing technical materials, writing publications, and addressing diverse audiences.
- Reasoning Skills: Skilled in problem-solving, data analysis, and interpreting technical instructions.
- Mathematical Skills: Strong understanding of statistics, geometry, and practical mathematical applications.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Tools: Familiarity with energy tools (e.g., infrared scanners, acoustic meters) and office equipment.
Current salary range is $92,556.34 - $121,783.66. Starting pay is dependent on experience and qualifications.
