The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) has extended the deadline for the voluntary submission of the Pipeline Safety Management Systems (PSMS) Information Collection Request to October 10.
All gas distribution operators are strongly encouraged to complete the short survey, which should take 10 minutes, regardless of their answers to the survey questions. The aggregated results of this survey, including the percentage of industry participation, will be shared in a report to Congress. APGA believes it is imperative that the distribution industry demonstrates an understanding of the survey questions. While adoption of PSMS standards is currently voluntary, APGA fears that may change if operators do not show a willingness to respond to this survey.
