At its April 26 Board meeting, the APGA Board of Directors approved the creation of two new APGA awards: a Community Service Award, and an APGA Environmental Sustainability Award. The creation of both awards was unanimously approved and the process of receiving submissions for the awards will begin in 2022 with the winners announced at the 2022 Annual Conference, scheduled for July 17-20 in Minneapolis, Minn.

The Community Service Award will go to one public natural gas system member on an annual basis in recognition of the accomplishments of the gas system and its employees to improving and enhancing the quality of life of the community it serves. The review of the award applications and selection of a winner would be conducted by the APGA Awards Committee.

The Environmental Sustainability Award will recognize one public natural gas system member on an annual basis for their activities and accomplishments related to environmental sustainability. The Environmental Task Group will be responsible for reviewing and judging the applications for the award.
