Membership Pricing

APGA Membership Dues Policy

  • You are eligible for APGA Public Natural Gas Membership if your organization provides natural gas distribution services, if your natural gas distribution system is publicly- or community-owned, and if it is over 500 meters. Email any questions to Sheila Deringis, Director of Membership, to join APGA! 2020 Membership dues are:
    • $445 for systems with 500 meters or less (see APGA Small System Public Natural Gas Membership category)
    • Calculated at 89¢ per meter for systems between 501-60,000 meters
    • $53,400 for systems between 60,001-200,000 meters
    • $57,000 for systems over 200,000 meters
  • You are eligible for APGA Small System Public Natural Gas Membership if your organization provides natural gas distribution services, if your natural gas distribution system is publicly- or community-owned, and if it operates 500 meters or less. If you fall into this category, you are automatically considered members, asked to pay a flat rate of $445, and dropped as APGA members upon request. Click here to email Sheila Deringis, Director of Membership, to join APGA!
  • You are eligible for an Associate Membership if your organization provides products and/or services for publicly owned natural gas distribution systems. 2020 Dues are a flat rate of $825.   • You are eligible for APGA Affiliate Membership if your organization is affiliated with the natural gas or energy industry and if your organization is a national or state association.  Affiliate Members pay no dues.   • Agency Member dues are explained below under Agency Member Dues Policy. If you are a Supplier or Joint Action Agency interested in becoming an APGA member, please contact Sheila Deringis, Director of Membership, to join APGA via email or by phone 202-464-2742.
  • Dues invoices are sent out in September and cover the following calendar year.

Prorating of Dues

  • New 2020 public gas system members with 500-60,000 customers who join during the year may have its initial dues prorated on the following schedule (Membership Effective Date of Prorated Level):
    • January 1 – March 31 89¢ per meter
    • April 1 – June 30 66.75¢ per meter
    • July 1 – September 30 44.5¢ per meter
    • October 1 – December 31 (2021 APGA Dues Rate)
  • JAA members may have their dues prorated similarly.

Complimentary Trial Membership

  • The Membership Committee may recommend, and the President may approve, a trial membership of up to three months to afford a potential member the opportunity to receive Public Gas News, have access to the website, and other APGA services.

Discount Dues for Affiliate & Agency Members

  • APGA will bill an association or agency (see policy below) the total dues amount for all of its APGA members. The entity may, in turn, bill these members for their proportionate APGA dues. Click here to email Sheila Deringis, Director of Membership, to join APGA!
  • Provided that 100% of potential System Members of an Agency or JAA participate, that entity may collect and remit to APGA dues for such System Members, which will receive a 5% discount to the applicable rate for System Members with fewer than 60,000 meters. If fewer than 100% are System Members, dues may be collected jointly but no discount will apply.
