Regulatory Submissions

Attached are the industry comments that were submitted on Friday to PHMSA on their proposed 911 Notification FAQs. There were two major themes in the comments:

1. The term “rupture” is only currently defined for transmission pipelines as part of the ASV/RCV proposed rulemaking. The industry suggests that notifications for distribution pipelines should be addressed separately & provide recommendations on how to address those differences.
2. A suggested revision to account for personnel outside of a control room who may be responsible for making notifications to 911.
