On October 27, APGA submitted comments in response to the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) request for information (RFI) pertaining to its Green and Resilient Retrofit Program (GRRP). The GRRP is one of the many new programs authorized under the recently enacted Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).The IRA made $837.5 million available to HUD to fund projects that improve energy efficiency and/or address climate resilience, among other things. Through the comments, APGA urged HUD to recognize natural gas and its efficient end use technologies in the GRRP. Doing so will help the agency meet the stated goals of the program.
