APGA supports The Standardizing Permitting and Expediting Economic Development (SPEED) Act. Introduced by Re. Bruce Westerman (R-AK) and Rep. Jared Golden (D-Maine) the SPEED Act would modernize the National Energy Policy Act (NEPA) to streamline the permitting process. It would shorten permitting timelines and reduce the frequency of litigation on important infrastructure projects. APGA believes “the SPEED act will enable communities served by public natural gas utilities to benefit from infrastructure projects essential to energy reliability and local economic development.”
