APGA Congratulates New DOE General Counsel

Washington, D.C. (August 10, 2021) – The American Public Gas Association (APGA), representing more than 700 local, municipally-owned natural gas systems in 38 states, issued the following statement in response to the confirmation of the General Counsel for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE):

“APGA congratulates Samuel Walsh on his appointment as General Counsel for the U.S. Department of Energy. We appreciate the commitment Mr. Walsh made during his confirmation hearing to ensure regulatory certainty and predictability on matters before DOE.

“APGA members are strong supporters of energy efficiency and focus on providing their communities with safe, reliable, and affordable energy to be used for cooking, clothes drying, and space and water heating, in addition to other residential, commercial, and industrial applications. APGA looks forward to continued engagement with DOE in appliance efficiency rulemakings to ensure that the direct use of natural gas continues to be a clean, efficient, and affordable energy option for Americans.”
