APGA Congratulates Energy Secretary Wright
Washington, D.C. (February 4, 2025) – The American Public Gas Association (APGA), representing more than 730 communities across the U.S. that own and operate their retail natural gas distribution entities, issued the following statement upon the confirmation of the Secretary for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE):
“APGA congratulates Chris Wright on his confirmation as Energy Secretary. We appreciate and echo the sentiment he shared at his confirmation hearing that the U.S. economy is underpinned by energy from oil and natural gas. We appreciate his acknowledgement that natural gas is the biggest driver of reducing America’s greenhouse gas emissions. We share in his belief that the more energy infrastructure we have in the U.S., the better it is for Americans.”
“APGA looks forward to continued engagement with Secretary Wright and DOE in appliance efficiency rulemakings to ensure that the direct use of natural gas continues to be a reliable, efficient and affordable energy option for Americans.”
