On October 3, APGA staff presented at the Tennessee Gas Association's (TGA) Fall Management Conference. This conversation allowed for engagement with Tennessee utilities, many of which are APGA members. A variety of topics were covered, including Pipeline Safety Management Systems (PSMS), the Department of Energy's (DOE) proposed appliance efficiency rulemakings, and the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration's (PHMSA) proposed rulemakings. All the topics focused on how they will impact gas utilities.
APGA’s advocacy priorities for 2023 set the framework for the discussion, as there is emphasis on engaging on appliance efficiency policy and supporting practical pipeline safety regulations. There was good engagement from the TGA members during the presentation. It was great to hear how some utilities are taking action to implement PSMS elements and initially prepare for actions resulting from these rulemakings when they are finalized.
APGA staff believes it is valuable to represent members at these events and will continue to do so. To learn more about TGA, click here.
