By Stuart Saulters posted 05-04-2023 10:18 AM

On May 1, Joshua St. Pierre joined APGA as the new Manager of Legislative Affairs. In this role, Josh will work to advance APGA’s Advocacy Priorities by connecting with congressional staff and appropriately participating in legislative activities, which may include supporting other APGA staff or public utility members testifying at hearings, as well as working on legislation.

As a reminder, for 2023, the pertinent legislative Advocacy Priorities are listed below.
• Championing Section 5 Reform: Refund Authority for FERC
• Encouraging Effective Reliability and Cybersecurity Policies
• Preserving the Direct Use of Natural Gas
• Protecting Gas Consumers from Price Volatility in Emergencies
• Supporting Practical Pipeline Safety Regulations

Importantly, Josh will be working to effectively engage our members on advocacy efforts through regularly scheduled conference calls, email communications, APGA member publications, and in-person meetings.  There will be specific focus on identifying individuals from APGA’s membership willing to participate more directly in policy development activities and work on shifting the association to a more proactive posture on Capitol Hill.

Josh will also be staying busy by collaborating with APGA’s communications staff and our public gas utility members promoting our policy efforts on social media and through traditional communications efforts, like op-eds.  As well, he will represent the trade association in like-minded coalitions and other industry groups, coordinating activities and gathering information.

Please reach out to Josh to make him feel welcome!  You can contact him by phone at 202-470-4262 or by email at jstpierre@apga.org
