APGA Participates on TRC Podcast

On January 19, APGA staff joined TRC Companies, who host a podcast on pipeline industry efforts. This interview allowed for a dynamic conversation on the recently enacted $1 billion grant program exclusively for municipal and community-owned utilities, which will be managed by the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA).

The agenda topics included: what do we know; what types of projects may be eligible; what criteria can PHMSA consider; and tips for planning to apply. It was a productive conversation, especially the discussion on what can be done now before the notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) is published, which will be later in 2022. Other next steps include APGA staff and the PHMSA team continuing to meet regularly to ensure the grant program is a success and pipeline safety is improved. As more details, including the NOFO, are made available, they will be passed along to APGA members.

A recording of the podcast can be found here. Also, visit APGA’s website specific to the grant program here.

APGA staff has recently enjoyed using several podcasts to talk about its important work, and is especially thankful for this collaboration with an Associate Members. APGA looks forward to being on other TRC podcasts or similar efforts with additional Associate Members.
