Along with other members of the Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE), APGA called on Congress to improve the nation’s energy infrastructure through legislation. The letter sent on March 11 outlines the following bipartisan policy recommendations:

  • Make clean energy and demand-side energy efficiency central to infrastructure improvement, with a focus on resilience and improved public health and safety;
  • Enact robust funding for innovative and existing clean energy programs managed by federal agencies, including programs that leverage private sector capital;
  • Enact durable and long-term clean energy tax policy;
  • Provide workforce development support with the goal of expanding jobs for all Americans; and
  • Provide support for advanced manufacturing to maintain U.S. leadership.
In the communication, BCSE contended that congressional action in these areas will modernize American infrastructure and help provide much-needed relief to stabilize investment and help communities, especially as they recover from the impacts of COVID-19. Natural gas, along with other clean energy technologies, are central to BCSE’s mission, so the outreach emphasizes this fuel as a part of any infrastructure action.
