APGA Ready to Work with New Congress and Administration

This week, APGA saw the transfer of power from President Trump to President Biden. As well, the Senate now has a Democratic majority, meaning it is not a divided government. The White House, Senate, and the House of Representatives are under Democratic leadership for the first time in 10 years. As a result of this week’s transition, APGA issued a press release that can be found here.

In the upcoming weeks, Congress appears to be focused on confirming President Biden’s nominees and more relief for the COVID-19 pandemic. Action on energy and the environment is planned, but it will likely come later. There is a possibility for infrastructure legislation in the near term that may include provisions impacting APGA’s members. Unfortunately, it is not feasible for APGA to hold the in-person Government Relations Conference this year. As such, members are encouraged to participate in the upcoming virtual fly-in. This unique year means virtual meetings with congressional members and their staffs, and it is still critical for APGA member participation. To learn more, preparation webinars will be held on January 25 and 26. Both will start at 3 p.m. ET/2 p.m. CT and cover the same material. Registration is available here.
