Biden Administration Releases Spring Regulatory Agenda

By Renée Lani posted 06-17-2021 12:48 PM

Recently, the Biden Administration released its updates to the Unified Agenda of Federal Regulatory and Deregulatory Actions. The agenda, which was released on the Office of Management and Budget’s (OMB) website, identifies rulemakings that agencies plan to initiate or further within the next year, as well as long-term regulatory actions. For example, the Department of Energy’s (DOE) agenda includes several minimum appliance efficiency rulemakings for gas-fired appliances, as well as consideration of the Process Rule and the final interpretive rule that determined separate product classes were required for certain condensing and non-condensing technology.

Other rulemakings of interest to APGA members include a Consumer Product Safety Commission rule regarding CO sensors for gas appliances as well as additional DOE rules that would dictate energy efficiency and limit fossil fuel-generated energy in federal buildings.

APGA staff has reviewed the federal regulatory agenda and continues to monitor relevant regulatory activities that may impact APGA members.
