APGA Congratulates Newly Confirmed EPA Administrator

On March 10, the Senate voted to confirm Michael Regan as the Administrator for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). In his new role, Regan will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of regulations that impact distribution sector emissions and permitting of natural gas infrastructure projects.

APGA looks forward to Administrator Regan’s leadership in carrying out President Biden’s domestic climate agenda with the same balanced approach that he showed as head of North Carolina’s Department of Environmental Quality. A copy of the APGA statement pertaining to his confirmation is available here.

Also happening recently is that President Biden’s nomination for Deputy Secretary of Energy, David Turk, was unanimously voted out of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee. If confirmed by the full Senate, Mr. Turk, who most recently served as Deputy Executive Director of the International Energy Agency, would support the work of Secretary Granholm.
