The APGA Research Foundation (RF) board of directors approved the nomination of Nicholas Smith from City of Tallahassee Utilities, FL, to the GTI Energy (GTIE) Operations Technology Development (OTD) Technical Project Committee (TPC) last week. Nicholas will be the primary point of contact between RF and GTIE OTD when it comes to reviewing new and existing R&D projects and determining RF project funding levels based on contributor feedback.  Nicholas earned a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Central Florida with a background in sustainable engineering and thermofluid applications.

OTD developments provide solutions to a wide range of challenges and changes for natural gas delivery systems. New technologies play a major role in helping companies address integrity concerns, rising costs, and environmental issues. OTD is a member-controlled partnership of natural gas distribution companies with the objective of addressing technology issues relating to gas operations and infrastructure. For more information on OTD visit www.otd.org.

The RF has been a member of OTD since 2004. If you would like more information on GTIE, OTD, or the RF contact Todd Brady at tbrady@apga.org
