The APGA Research Foundation (RF) and Gas Technology Institute (GTI) will hold the 2021 Research Forum on August 31 and September 1 and invite all APGA members to participate. This is a great opportunity for seasoned managers, up-and-coming leaders, and new employees to see critical research being done in the natural gas industry.

To highlight the importance of research and development (R&D) and to showcase GTI’s critical work in the natural gas industry, the RF and GTI host a forum at GTI headquarters in Des Plaines, Illinois. This year’s event will provide updates on ongoing R&D projects as well as a chance to tour GTI’s research facility firsthand. Current projects focus on efficiency and safety for end-use customers, operational improvements for distribution companies, as well as soon-to-the-market emerging technologies.

The RF and GTI will cover the cost of lodging and food for the first 20 registrants meaning that your system will only be responsible for the cost of travel to Chicago. You do not have to be an RF contributor to participate. Registration information for the forum is available on the RF website at www.apgarf.org/our-events/fallforum.

The RF is a non-profit organization providing public gas systems with the ability to collect voluntary dollars and allocate them to critical R&D initiatives. Foundation contributors identify and prioritize projects and ensure that deliverables are tracked and met. The RF has over 150 contributors that serve about 2.5 million customers.

GTI is a non-profit R&D organization located just outside of Chicago. GTI provides research, development, and training initiatives which are designed to address issues impacting the natural gas and energy markets across the industry’s value chain—supply, delivery, and end use. Their mission is to offer an integrated systems perspective to expand the supply of affordable energy, ensure a safe and reliable energy delivery infrastructure, and promote the efficient use of energy resources.
