On October 22, the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) announced $196 million in this round of Natural Gas Distribution Infrastructure and Safety Modernization (NGDISM) grant funding to support 60 projects across 20 states to repair and replace aging natural gas pipes. APGA would like to congratulate all the awardees. View the full list of winners here

The Biden-Harris Administration’s 2021 Bipartisan Infrastructure Law created the NGDISM grant program, which authorized a nearly $1 billion investment over five years to modernize community-owned natural gas distribution pipes, helping lower energy costs for ratepayers, reduce methane emissions, and help keep communities safe from potential pipeline failures. This announcement brings the total amount awarded under the grant program to nearly $800 million across 227 projects communities in 29 states since the program was created in 2022.
