Reminder: PHMSA Annual Reports Due Next Week

Gas Distribution and Gas Transmission & Gathering Lines Annual Reports are due on March 15 to the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA). The type of data required to be submitted for the 2023 calendar year remains unchanged from previous years. However, the data required to be collected in 2024, which will be submitted in March 2025, has important changes operators should be aware of:
 
Gas Distribution: In March 2025, operators will be required to submit detailed excavation damage root cause data. This information must be collected throughout 2024 for accurate submission in March 2025. 
 
Gas Transmission & Gathering Lines: In 2025, operators will need to submit the condition repair categories for non-HCA pipelines assessed under new  §192.710. Additionally, gas transmission and gathering line operators will need to submit more detailed excavation damage data in 2025.
