Congratulations to the 2022 PHMSA NGDISM Grant Winners!

APGA would like to congratulate the 37 winners, including 32 APGA members, that are receiving 2022 grants for the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration’s (PHMSA) Natural Gas Distribution Infrastructure Safety and Modernization (NGDISM) grant program. Beginning yesterday in Las Cruces, NM, PHMSA is visiting with several of the grant recipients to personally deliver the great news. Today in Donaldsonville, LA, seven public gas systems in Louisiana are being awarded grants. An APGA staff member will be in attendance for each event and will be amplifying the great news on our social channels. So far, PHMSA has awarded the following publicly or community owned natural gas systems:
 
1. Las Cruces Utilities, NM
2. City of Donaldsonville, LA
3. Town of Woodworth, LA
4. City of Alexandria, LA
5. City of Carencro, LA
6. City of Morgan, LA
7. Gas Utility District #2 of East Feliciana, LA
8. Village of Montpelier, LA
 
View the full list of winners here. There were 179 publicly and community owned gas systems that applied in 2022. Individual letters will be provided to each of the applicants that were not awarded a grant during this cycle. The letters will include details as to why the projects were not selected and guidance for how to improve future applications. PHMSA is also hosting a Best Practices for NGDISM Grant Submissions webinar on Monday, May 1, at 3 PM ET and the information is at https://apga.org/resources/phmsa-grant. PHMSA’s grant team will be discussing their review of the 2022 applications and how to prepare for the 2023 funding cycle. PHMSA is expecting to post the 2023 Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) very soon. APGA will notify all points of contact when it is available.
