APGA Signs Letter to Congress Supporting LIHEAP

APGA is a member of the National Energy and Utility Affordability Coalition (NEUAC), a diverse group of organizations and companies that advocate for the policies and programs that help reduce the energy burden of low-income households.

Every year, NEUAC assembles an all-parties letter to members of the House and Senate Appropriations Committees urging them to maximize funding for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). For over 40 years, the LIHEAP program has ensured that low-income families have reliable access to the energy they need to heat, cool, and power their homes.

This year’s letter was signed by over 800 different stakeholders and was sent to Capitol Hill this week following the release of the President’s budget, which kickstarted the appropriations process for fiscal year 2023.

APGA and many member utilities signed this year’s letter. View a copy of the letter here.
