APGA Speaks at NAPSR Annual Meeting

On August 17, APGA’s President & CEO Dave Schryver spoke at the National Association of Pipeline Safety Representatives (NAPSR) National Meeting, which was held in Deadwood, S.D. NAPSR is the national association representing state pipeline safety personnel in the contiguous United States as well as the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. In addition to Dave, other speakers at the conference included Tristan Brown, Acting Administrator for the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), Alan Mayberry, PHMSA Associate Administrator, and Cristina Sames, Senior Vice President for Safety, Operations, and Security at the American Gas Association.

In his presentation, Dave provided an overview of a number of APGA activities including the Natural Gas Genius campaign and the association’s response to Winter Storm Uri. He also discussed the efforts of APGA and its members to implement Pipeline Safety Management Systems (PSMS) and the potential impacts of the Protecting Our Infrastructure of Pipelines and Enhancing Safety (PIPES) Act of 2020 upon APGA members. Dave closed with an update on the APGA Security & Integrity Foundation's (SIF) Simple, Handy, Risk-based Integrity Management Plan (SHRIMP).
