, and the 2021 edition would have taken place this May at The Alexandrian by Marriott in Alexandria, Virginia in coordination with the Spring Board and Committee Meetings. We are disappointed that we will not be able to see you in-person and are pivoting to a virtual Fly-In for members to meet with their congressional representatives online during the COVID-19 pandemic.
APGA will evaluate potential future dates for this year when we may coordinate Capitol Hill visits for APGA members. We appreciate your understanding as we work through these difficult times.
In addition to receiving updates on key natural gas issues, another critical component of this event is APGA members meeting with their congressional delegations. Having congressional representatives hear directly from their constituents on key issues of interest to public natural gas systems has greatly helped APGA’s advocacy efforts. In previous years, many members of the APGA Public Gas Policy Council attend and participate in meetings on the Hill. The Public Gas Policy Council is made up of elected and appointed officials from public natural gas communities.
In past years, APGA members met with approximately 60 congressional offices to communicate their views on important legislative issues. The event will conclude with a reception in a U.S. Senate Russell Office Building, which is widely attended by congressional staff and industry representatives.
