APGA requests members to sign up now for the 2015 Gas Technology Institute (GTI) Fall Forum on September 30 and October 1 held by the APGA Research Foundation (RF).

The APGA RF is a not-for-profit corporation that serves as the bank for public natural gas system (PGS) voluntary research and development (R&D) contributions. The RF provides PGSs their own organization to collect and allocate voluntary dollars to R&D important to public natural gas customers. The RF identifies and prioritizes research projects important to contributing PGSs and ensures that project deliverables are tracked and met. Those deliverables always include commercialization prospects, values and schedules. APGA Research Foundation has over 150 investors that serve about 2.5 million customers.

The APGA RF invests the bulk of its resources into GTI, which is a not-for-profit R&D organization located just outside of Chicago. GTI provides research, development and training initiatives that are designed to address issues impacting the natural gas and energy markets across the industry’s value chain including supply, delivery, and end use. Their mission is to offer an integrated systems perspective to expand the supply of affordable energy, ensure a safe and reliable energy delivery infrastructure, and promote the efficient use of energy resources.

In order to highlight the importance of R&D and to showcase GTI’s critical work, every year the APGA RF and GTI host a forum at GTI’s headquarters in Des Plaines, Ill. This year’s event will be held on September 30 and October 1, and will provide attendees with updates on ongoing R&D in operations, natural gas vehicles, and emerging natural gas technologies, to name just a few and provides the chance to tour GTI’s facility to see the projects firsthand.

APGA RF and GTI will cover the cost of lodging and food for the first 40 registrants for duration of the Forum, meaning that your system will only be responsible for the cost of travel to Chicago. Registration information for the Fall Forum is available on the APGA RF website here

If you are interested in attending the Fall Forum, please contact Scott Morrison of APGA staff by phone at 202-464-2742 or by email at smorrison@apga.org.
