APGA Congratulates New CISA Director

Washington, D.C. (July 15, 2021) – The American Public Gas Association (APGA), representing more than 700 local, municipally-owned natural gas systems in 38 states, issued the following statement in response to the recent confirmation of Jen Easterly as the Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA):

“APGA congratulates Jen Easterly on her confirmation as Director of the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). As the nation’s risk advisor, CISA partners with diverse organizations to safeguard American interests while developing a strategic, resilient infrastructure for our future. With more than 700 local, municipally-owned natural gas systems in 38 states, APGA appreciates the essential role that CISA plays in understanding and managing risk to our critical infrastructure.

As part of APGA’s effort to provide and protect much needed energy to millions of Americans, APGA frequently engages with CISA, and we are eager to collaborate with Director Easterly to help fortify a strategic, resilient infrastructure for the future. Director Easterly has valuable experience in both the public and private sectors, and APGA is grateful for her willingness to serve as Director of CISA. Her support is crucial to ensure that our country’s infrastructure is protected, both from physical and cyber security threats. We look forward to working together with Director Easterly and her office as we remain committed to advancing our advocacy goals and protecting America’s energy future.”
