Richard (Rich) H. Worsinger, PE

Rich is President of R.H. Worsinger, PLLC, an engineering consulting firm providing management and technical services to the energy industry. Rich has 40 years of experience in the electric and natural gas utility industries and is a proven, results-oriented leader with a unique blend of public power / public natural gas and investor-owned electric / natural gas utility experience with union and non-union labor forces who is deeply experienced in electric and natural gas wholesale supply, planning, engineering, construction, operation and maintenance, regulatory compliance and support functions. 

Before starting R.H. Worsinger, PLLC, Rich served as the Director of Wilson Energy for the City of Wilson, North Carolina for four year and the Director of Energy Resources for the City of Rocky Mount, NC for eighteen years. He was responsible for each City’s municipally-owned electric and natural gas utilities. 

Rich was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has a Bachelor of Science in Electric Engineering from Drexel University in Philadelphia, and is a Licensed Professional Engineer in North Carolina. 

Prior to moving to North Carolina, Rich spent most of his professional career employed by Public Service Electric and Gas Company in New Jersey. Public Service Electric and Gas is an investor-owned electric and gas utility serving over 2 million customers in New Jersey. During this time, Rich held various engineering and management positions in both the electric and gas departments.

Rich is a Past Chairman, Past Treasurer and former member of the American Public Gas Association’s Board of Directors, a Past Chairman and former member of the Carolinas Public Gas Association Board of Directors, a Past President of the North Carolina Association of Municipal Electric Systems. and is a former Alternate Commissioner for the North Carolina Eastern Municipal Power Agency’s Board of Commissioners.  He also served as an industry representative on the US Department of Transportation's Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration's Gas Pipeline Advisory Committee. .

Rich has been married to his wife Nancy for over 35 years and they have a son Chris and daughter Libby.
