On October 19, Dave Schryver, APGA’s Executive Vice President, spoke at the Tennessee Gas Association's (TGA) Fall Management Conference, which was held in Chattanooga, Tenn. TGA supports the growth of the natural gas industry in Tennessee by enhancing the overall performance, safety, competitiveness and public awareness of its members and their products and services. The conference was well attended by approximately 150 members.

Dave discussed the benefits that the direct-use of natural provides in terms of providing an abundant, affordable and efficient source of energy. He also provided an update on the natural gas furnace Supplemental Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (SNOPR) released by the Department of Energy last month. Dave also discussed efforts to repeal Section 433 of the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007, which has long been an APGA priority. Section 433 mandates the elimination of all fossil fuel-generated energy use in federal buildings by the year 2030. The mandate covers new buildings and major renovations of at least $2,500,000 in 2007 dollars. APGA has worked towards the successful inclusion of language repealing Section 433 in the House and Senate energy bills.
