Public Natural Gas Week


Public Natural Gas Week (PNGW) is a nationwide observance that offers the perfect opportunity for you to showcase your public natural gas system and generate enthusiasm about the benefits of public natural gas. 

We hope that all APGA member utilities join us in this nationwide observance to honor the work and importance of locally-owned public natural gas systems. The American Public Gas Association is here to help you plan and promote your system’s PNGW celebrations.

2026 Public Natural Gas Week: October 4-10

This year, PNGW will be celebrated October 4-10, 2026.

Many APGA members do a wonderful job preparing full-fledged promotional events and campaigns each year. However, for those of you who could use some additional ideas, APGA will provide sample materials that include a stock press release, op-ed, design templates and suggestions for events to celebrate the week in your community. We hope you find these materials helpful and that together we make this Public Natural Gas Week one of the best yet!

Suggestions

  • Use your website and social networking sites to publicize the week. 
  • Celebrate PNGW with a customer appreciation day on your social media accounts. Offer natural gas efficiency tips for your followers and prizes for those that interact with you online and explain to attendees the importance of having a public natural gas system in their community and why natural gas is a responsible and affordable choice.
  • Bring out your natural gas utility vehicles for a show-and-tell on your social media channels. Educate customers about the value of having NGVs in their community and particularly about the fuel-saving and environmental benefits.
  • Explore opportunities to speak to local civic organizations about energy efficiency with natural gas appliances and the benefits of public gas.
