As a past/recovering state regulator (Director of Indiana’s Pipeline Safety Program), and having an extensive history working for a large gas utility, Steve Allen has seen many changes in the pipeline industry in my life. These changes continue and he is ecstatic about the direction the pipeline industry has taken regarding adoption of API RP-1173 Pipeline Safety Management Systems (PSMS). His journey has included membership on the US DOT-Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) Technical Pipeline Safety Standards Committee (GPAC), Chairmanship of the National Association of Pipeline Safety Representatives (NAPSR), Board Member - Indiana 811, and Board Member of the American Public Gas Association. Because of shared values and passion for pipeline safety, Steve joined Energy Worldnet, Inc. (EWN) in 2018 as Executive Director of Pipeline Safety. His primary focus is on advocating for the advancement of PSMS, and assisting Industry Associations, Operators and Contractors to that end. When I’m not doing that, he lives the country life in Indiana with his wife of 42 years. He can be found playing the drums or guitar, shooting a gun or bow, playing in my woods or tapping trees and making my own maple syrup in late winter.
