APGA recognizes CPS Energy/Rinnai, eight east Georgia systems (Thomson, Statesboro, Waynesboro, Claxton, Wrens, Louisville, Millen and Sylvania), Oak Ridge Utility District, Okaloosa Gas District, Philadelphia Gas Works, Sevier County Utility District and Southeast Alabama Gas District for submitting their inventive and successful programs for consideration in this year’s Marketing & Sales Award competition. Award judges had a difficult time picking the top three and then ranking them in order of preference. But it was a job they had to do and they were very pleased to read through all the submissions. They arrived at a consensus on the first ballot giving top honors to Philadelphia Gas Works for its “Energy Seminars and Public Facing Activities.” Second place honors went to Sevier County Utility District for its “S-C-U-D Rebranding” program. Third place honors were awarded to Okaloosa Gas District for its very successful “Okaloosa Gas Appliance Alliance.” Craig White and Joe Smith of PGW will be presented the 2010 M&S Award at the APGA Annual Conference in San Diego. PGW, Sevier and Okaloosa will be invited to present their programs at the 2010 Gas Utility Management Conference in Ross Bridge, Alabama, November 2-3, 2010, and the 2011 Marketing & Sales Trends and Training Conference (MSTTC) in Pensacola, FL scheduled for April 4-6, 2011. APGA is pleased that all seven award entries will be uploaded to the APGA website so all members can see and possibly emulate these success stories.
