Natural Gas Film Debunked

On June 21, HBO will present the Sundance Special Jury Award winning film “GasLand”. This film directly attacks domestic natural gas production claiming that the hydraulic fracking process is leaching toxic chemicals into the groundwater of residents who are leasing their land to the oil and gas producers.  The movie states that as a result of hydraulic fracturing, water is contaminated with harmful chemicals including carcinogens that are causing residents and their animals to become sick.  Energy In Depth, a project of America’s small, independent oil and natural gas producers has created a response to many of the claims made in this film on its website.  They believe that the claims made in this movie are inherently false.  A copy of their response is available at the link below.  We wanted to provide you with the response in case you receive questions from your customers or local press in response to the airing of the film.
