Bob Beauregard has been APGA's Vice President for Marketing and Business Development since December 2003. Since 2006, he has the added title of Chief Operating Office of the APGA Research Foundation. Bob wears several hats under the VP title, including serving as staff executive to the APGA Marketing, Codes and Standards and R&D Committees.

Bob has over 30-years experience in the fields of energy and pipeline safety law and policy development. Prior to joining APGA, he ran his own consulting business providing client services on federal and state regulatory and legislative initiatives on hazardous material and pipeline transportation safety , worker safety and a broad array of energy economic issues .

Bob's private sector work began in 1985 as Texas Eastern Corporation's Senior Regulatory Counsel. In 1987, he was hired as INGAA's VP for Regulatory Affairs to organize and lead a new regulatory advocacy department. Bob joined Southern California Gas in 1992 where he developed and executed energy and pipeline transportation safety advocacy strategies for the nation's largest local gas distribution company.

Bob graduated St. John Fisher College in Rochester, New York in 1969 with a Marketing BBA and Boston College Law School in 1972. Immediately following law school, he took a direct commission with the United States Coast Guard where he served as lead counsel on a full-range of legal services to the Coast Guard's boating safety programs with emphasis on authoring, implementing and enforcing regulations.

Following active military duty, Bob joined the General Counsel's office of DOT's Research and Special Programs Administration where he authored major rulemakings, congressional testimony, and legislation, including the Hazardous Liquid Pipeline Safety Act of 1979.

From 1981-1985, Bob served under political appointment as legal advisor to two FERC Commissioners. His work covered generic and case-specific rate, certificate, environmental and economic policy decisions for natural gas pipeline and producer industries, electric utilities and oil pipelines.

Bob is married to Eileen (41 years), has two children, Katherine and Robert Jr. and four grandsons: Grady, Liam, Nicholas (Cole) and Andrew (Drew).
